Nghe An Women's Union: Grassroots level model congress for the 2016-2021 term

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 10, the Nghi Loc District Women's Union organized the 21st Women's Congress, term 2016-2021. This is the unit chosen by the Provincial Women's Union to organize a model congress at the grassroots level to gain experience in directing other Unions. Attending were representatives of the Provincial Women's Union, representatives of a number of provincial departments and branches; and chairmen of the Women's Unions of districts and communes in the province.

Voting to approve the new Executive Committee at the Congress

Over the past 5 years, the Women's Union of Nghi Loc district has maintained the movements of "Rice Saving Jar", "Raising Saving Pigs", creating conditions for 2,820 members to borrow over 12 billion VND, supporting 2.7 billion VND for members in difficult circumstances, building 38 new houses and repairing 42 charity houses for poor women. Carrying out gratitude activities, the Union has donated 225 savings books, 625 gifts to visit and give gifts to families with revolutionary contributions... Through the emulation movements of "Skilled Mass Mobilization", "Building 5 No, 3 Clean Families", the Union has built 225 hamlets without people having a third child, over 70% of hamlets have no social evils; women's union members in the whole district have donated 43.5 hectares of land, mobilizing socialization in new rural construction over 550 billion VND...

In the 2016-2021 term, the District Women's Union continues to promote patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, linking the goal of gender equality with building and developing a strong organization. Providing members with knowledge and skills on building happy families... The Congress elected the Executive Committee for the 2016-2021 term, consisting of 25 members. Comrade Dinh Thi Hanh was re-elected as President of the Nghi Loc District Women's Union for the 2016-2021 term.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Le Thi Tam, President of the Provincial Women's Union, praised the results that the Nghi Loc Women's Union achieved in the past term.
