National press conference to deploy the Association's tasks in 2013

(Baonghean) -On the morning of April 17, at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Convention Center (46 Tran Phu, Nha Trang), the Vietnam Journalists Association opened the National Conference to summarize the Association's work in 2012 and deploy tasks for 2013..

Attending the conference were comrades: Vu Ngoc Hoang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Thuan Huu - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Do Quy Doan - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; Nguyen Tan Tuan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa Province; Le Xuan Than - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, and more than 400 delegates representing associations, inter-associations, and journalist associations from 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

During the two working days (April 17 and 18), the conference reviewed the Association's work in 2012, deployed tasks for 2013; discussed measures to enhance the role of the Journalists Association in press management and direction in the spirit of Directive 03 of the Politburo; information and propaganda work on sovereignty, seas and islands; and emulation and reward work.

This is an annual activity organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association every year to evaluate the association's activities, exchange, draw experiences and deploy the next tasks to promote all aspects of the association's work, continue to consolidate, improve and enhance the operational capacity of the association at all levels, and enhance the role and position of the Journalists Association at all levels.

At the Conference, many presentations by representatives of the Vietnam Journalists Association, local Journalists Associations, governing bodies, central and local press agencies also mentioned many important and prominent issues in the Association's work; at the same time, proposed and recommended many solutions to improve the quality of the Association's work, especially the direction of press activities in the new situation.

Outstanding Association groups in 2012 were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Journalists Association.
Vietnam

On this occasion, 78 groups and 164 individuals who achieved achievements in professional activities and Association building in 2012 were awarded emulation flags and certificates of merit by the Association. The Office of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Journalist magazine were awarded certificates of merit by the Prime Minister.

Nghe An Journalists Association was honored to receive a certificate of merit for the excellent collective association in 2012, along with 6 individuals who are officials at Nghe An press agencies were also awarded certificates of merit by the Vietnam Journalists Association.
