(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of July 7, 2014, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications to organize a regular press conference for June 2014. Comrades Le Ba Hung - Provincial Party Committee member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and Ho Quang Thanh - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Information and Communications co-chaired the conference.

In June, press agencies continued to closely follow the propaganda direction of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Department of Information and Communications to fully and promptly reflect political, economic, cultural, social events, and current events at home and abroad. In particular, press agencies focused on reporting on the 7th Session of the 13th National Assembly; voter contact activities of the 16th Provincial People's Council delegates before the 11th Session; the 89th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and the Nghe An Provincial Press Awards Ceremony in 2013; Action Month for Children, Vietnam Family Day June 28... In particular, press agencies have strongly propagated the event of China illegally placing an oil rig in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. In addition, reporters and journalists have vividly and practically reflected the lives of relatives of officers and soldiers on duty in the East Sea, thereby contributing to building a solid rear for activities to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland. There have been many special topics and works in various types of press on the topic of sea and islands that have created good effects in public opinion. Reporters of press agencies stationed in the area have many practical activities such as mobilizing and calling for contributions towards the sea and islands.

In June, press agencies spent a lot of time reporting on the socio-economic development of the province in the first half of 2014. Accordingly, the GDP of Nghe An in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 26,322.1 billion VND, an increase of 6.37% compared to the same period in 2013. The economic growth rate in the first 6 months of 2014 increased by 5.42% compared to 2013. In addition, press agencies also discovered and reported on many typical collectives and individuals about the National Target Program on New Rural Construction; Propaganda about the high school graduation exam, preparations for the 2014 University and College entrance exams...

At the meeting, representatives of leaders of Nghe An province's press agencies, chief representatives and permanent offices of some central press agencies located in the area mentioned issues related to responding to citizens' opinions in the press; contents related to site clearance for National Highway 1A, traffic infrastructure, toll collection at Ben Thuy 2 Bridge, Lam River urban area project, etc.
