National online conference on foreign non-governmental work in 2024
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 12, the Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations Affairs held a national online conference on the results of foreign non-governmental work in 2023 and work directions in 2024.
Comrade Nguyen Minh Hang - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations chaired the central bridge. At the Nghe An bridge, Comrade Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs chaired.

The conference unanimously assessed that in 2023, the world and regional situation will develop rapidly and complicatedly; the impact of the post-Covid-19 pandemic will be major issues for all countries, international organizations and foreign non-governmental organizations.
In that context, people's foreign affairs, including foreign non-governmental work, continue to be given importance by the Party and the State. Central and local agencies, departments, ministries, branches have simultaneously innovated and clearly enhanced the effectiveness of management and mobilization of foreign non-governmental organizations.
The activities of foreign non-governmental organizations are basically implemented in accordance with the Party's guidelines and policies, comply with the State's policies and laws; coordinate well with Vietnamese agencies and partners in the implementation process, contributing to the socio-economic development results of the country in general and localities in particular.

In 2023, the value of aid disbursed to Vietnam by foreign non-governmental organizations and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals will reach more than 228.7 million USD, an increase of 4.9 million USD compared to 2022. Thereby, demonstrating the great efforts of ministries, branches and localities in coordinating the work of mobilization, organization, management and implementation.
The implementation of activities of foreign non-governmental organizations contributes greatly to foreign affairs, especially people-to-people diplomacy. It demonstrates the support and cooperation of international partners and friends for efforts in national development.

In Nghe An, in 2023, 6 new projects and 5 non-projects were approved with a total committed aid capital of 1,522 million USD.
Projects that are in line with the province's attraction orientation in the Program to enhance cooperation and mobilize non-refundable aid are not part of Nghe An province's official development assistance for the 2021-2025 period.
Non-governmental aid has contributed to improving the capacity of local authorities and people in environmental protection, livelihood development, and improving the quality of teaching and learning... in the province.

The conference unanimously assessed that foreign non-governmental work in 2024 will face many opportunities and advantages, but also many difficulties and challenges.
In the coming time, ministries, branches and localities need to continue to strengthen state management of foreign non-governmental activities; regularly exchange information and closely coordinate between local and central agencies in managing and supervising foreign non-governmental activities and aid to ensure security, politics and foreign affairs requirements, serving socio-economic development.
