Conference to improve expertise for forensic experts in 32 northern provinces
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 30, in Cua Lo Town, the National Institute of Forensic Medicine (Ministry of Health) coordinated with the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management to organize a conference to share experiences in forensic examination for 32 forensic examination centers in 32 northern provinces.
At the conference, Dr. Pham Xuan Toan, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, shared: Forensic medicine is a medical science that serves the law. The conclusion of a forensic examination is objective scientific evidence that helps the investigation, prosecution, and trial to be quick, to the right person, and to the right crime. In many cases, the forensic conclusion is the only evidence to bring the perpetrator to light.

Every year, the whole country appraises 50,000 - 60,000 cases. In order to have an appraisal conclusion, appraisers, in addition to having specialized knowledge in forensics, also need to have in-depth knowledge in the specialized field.
