International Conference 2013 “Chemistry - Opportunities and Development”
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Chemistry (September 16, 1978 - September 16, 2013), on September 16 in Hanoi, the Institute of Chemistry - Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology organized the 2013 International Conference "Chemistry - Opportunities and Development" with the participation of professors, doctors, and researchers in the field of chemistry domestically and internationally.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Tuyen, Director of the Institute of Chemistry, said that the Institute of Chemistry has presided over thousands of research topics and technology deployment at all levels.
Many research projects have been applied in production and life, bringing about socio-economic efficiency.
In the past 5 years, the Institute has completed many typical research projects such as the drug addiction treatment support drug Hentos 4 and is in the process of registering a license for production and circulation; successfully testing a special rubber fabric to protect the body of President Ho Chi Minh for a long time; a technological process for producing steel from red mud at a scale of 10 tons/batch, with a recovery efficiency of 70%, meeting Vietnamese standards...
The Institute has also successfully organized many national and international scientific conferences and seminars and has published over 1,000 works in domestic and foreign scientific journals.
At the workshop, delegates presented a number of issues such as synthesis and application of new photocatalysts in environmental treatment; use of fungi in anti-tumor and antibiotic resistance; environmental chemistry, hydrology and ecological models of sustainable development; protein synthesis by chemical ligation; changes in nanostructured materials used for electrical sensors and biosensors; artificial spores.../.
