Conference on university, college and vocational school entrance exams and admissions in 2014

(Baonghean.vn) - On March 19, the Department of Education and Training held a conference on university, college, and vocational school entrance exams and admissions in 2014. Attending were department heads and principals of universities, colleges, vocational schools, and high schools in the province.

The conference heard a summary report on the examination and admission work for universities, colleges and vocational training institutions in 2013. This is the 7th year that the Department of Education and Training has made many improvements in the process of receiving and handing over admission documents. Thanks to that, more than 70,000 student application documents are guaranteed to be accurate and error-free. The organization of examinations and admissions is safe, serious and in accordance with regulations, creating favorable conditions for candidates to take the exam.

The 2013 exam results showed that more than 17,000 Nghe An students passed the entrance exams to universities and colleges, ranking fourth nationwide, with 118 students in groups A and B achieving scores of 27 points or higher, 132 students in groups C and D achieving scores of 24 points or higher, and 9 students achieving the title of valedictorian. In addition, 37 students were selected to enter universities, 550 students were selected according to Resolution 30a/2008/NQ-CP, and more than 2,500 students were selected to enter vocational colleges and vocational colleges, and vocational training colleges.

Overview of the Conference.

In preparation for the 2014 university, college and vocational school entrance exams, delegates spent a lot of time listening to and giving opinions on the amendments to the admission regulations recently announced by the Ministry of Education and Training. They focused on such issues as organizing separate admissions, removing the minimum score for university entrance exams, preferential policies for subjects, adjusting priority areas and amending the subjects eligible for direct admission to universities and colleges. According to the plan, the entrance exams to universities and colleges this year will take place in three rounds: round 1, on July 4 and 5, 2014, for university entrance exams for groups A, A1, V; round 2, on July 9 and 10, 2014, for university entrance exams for groups B, C, D and gifted groups; round 3, on July 15 and 16, 2014, colleges will organize exams for all groups.

The examination cluster in Vinh City is for candidates applying to Vinh University and candidates with permanent residence in 4 provinces: Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri who wish to apply to universities located in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The application submission will start from March 17th to 5:00 p.m. on March 18th, 2014. For schools that organize their own admissions, from March 18th, candidates will continue to submit their application at the school, the deadline for submitting application is according to the regulations in the school's autonomous admissions plan.
