Our province currently has two main religions: Catholicism, Buddhism and some followers of other religions. In 2011, although the situation of religious activities was complicated and had many difficulties, the state management sector on religion has well implemented the programs and tasks set out. Notably: advising and proposing the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue policies and plans to focus on leadership and direction on religious work; basically resolving legitimate and legal religious needs in accordance with policies and laws; resolutely handling illegal religious activities and activities that take advantage of religion to oppose the regime, not allowing major complications to occur.
On the basis of implementing and thoroughly grasping Notice 336-TB/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on religious work, the key tasks in 2012 identified by the state management sector on religion are: Continuing to promote propaganda, education, mobilization, and persuasion of religious dignitaries, officials, and followers; Party members and non-religious people about the Party's viewpoints and policies and the State's laws on religion; maintaining the great national unity bloc. Improving the expertise, methods, and experience of the team of specialized cadres doing religious work at all levels and in all sectors. Building, consolidating, and promoting the effectiveness of the team of core cadres in religious areas at the grassroots level. Consulting, promptly resolving, in accordance with policies and laws, legitimate and legal religious needs and effectively resolving petitions, complaints, and denunciations, preventing conflicts and hot spots...
