Conference summarizing the ADI 30 pure rice variety model

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 24, in Dien Chau, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with ADI Agricultural Development and Trade Investment Joint Stock Company, Dien Chau district to organize a conference to summarize the ADI 30 pure rice variety model. Attending the conference were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, representatives of leaders of some key districts in rice cultivation.

Delegates attending the workshop visited the model in Dien Lien commune.

The model of “Demonstration of pure quality rice variety ADI30 for the summer-autumn crop of 2015” was built by Dien Chau district in collaboration with ADI Agricultural Investment, Trade and Development Joint Stock Company in Dien Lien commune (Dien Chau). This is a pure quality rice variety selected by the company from the population of pure rice gene sources from China through pedigree selection.

Harvesting rice to compare with the control variety

This variety is resistant to blast and is less susceptible to leaf blight, so it can be planted in two crops a year. The variety has been accepted for registration for protection of new plant varieties by the Department of Crop Production and is allowed for testing.

Threshing rice to get products as a control right in the field

Through testing in Dien Chau district, it shows that the variety has a high germination rate, the plants grow evenly and healthily, are less susceptible to pests and diseases, the rice plants grow and develop well; the ability to tiller quite well, tiller in a concentrated manner; the flag leaves are strong, and the panicle formation process is uniform.

At the beginning of flowering, despite the unfavorable weather conditions and prolonged rain, the rice plants still fully bloomed, with a high grain set rate and good resistance. The variety has a growing period of about 105 days in the locality, concentrated flowering and fast ripening time, with an expected yield of over 66.4 quintals/ha, bringing economic efficiency nearly 12 million VND higher than the mass.

At the conference, after listening to the discussion opinions, the representative of Dien Chau Department of Agriculture proposed that ADI Agricultural Development and Trade Investment Joint Stock Company continue to build demonstration models of this pure rice variety in the following crops in localities to continue to evaluate and submit to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for official recognition of the variety to be included in the variety structure.
