Conference to deploy the Project to improve and enhance the provincial competitiveness index
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, September 21, in Vinh City, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize a conference to disseminate and implement the Project to improve and enhance the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) of Nghe An province.
Attending the conference were comrades: Vu Tien Loc - Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tran Dinh Thien - Director of the Vietnam Economic Institute. On the provincial side, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee;Leaders of departments, branches, districts, cities and 70 enterprises with projects implemented in the province.

Besides, the delegates' opinions focused on analyzing the PCI index based on comparison with other provinces and cities in the country. Thereby, identifying strengths and weaknesses, paying attention to aspects that need to be improved in the business environment in the province to promote the development of the private economic sector.

Speaking at the Conference, comrade Ho Duc Phoc -Chairman of Provincial People's CommitteeHe said that although the business environment has been somewhat improved, due to the limited awareness of some managers in some sectors and localities, there is still a situation of coping with or underestimating the synchronous and correct reforms to improve the PCI index, which in fact is to improve the quality of economic management at the provincial level. He assigned the task: sectors and localities must have a deeper understanding of the index as well as the methodology of this index to identify reform issues, thereby having the right and timely solutions to contribute to improving the investment and business environment of the province in the coming time.
