Conference on implementing the 2013 Constitution

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of May 12, in Cua Lo Town, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a conference to implement the 2013 Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The conference was chaired by comrades: Phan Trung Ly - Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee; Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Van Mao - Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council. Attending the conference were comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee: Thai Van Hang, Le Xuan Dai; Standing Committees of the Provincial, District, Town People's Councils, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

Comrade Phan Trung Ly introduced the basic contents and new features of the 2013 Constitution.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, comrade Tran Hong Chau highlighted the significance and importance of the 2013 Constitution. The conference aims to help delegates of the Provincial People's Council and the Standing Committees of the People's Councils of districts, cities and towns grasp the basic contents of the Constitution, raise awareness and sense of self-respect and compliance with the Constitution, and create high unity in the implementation and enforcement of the Constitution and laws. At the same time, promote the role and responsibility of delegates of the Provincial People's Council and the Standing Committees of the People's Councils of districts, cities and towns in propagating and mobilizing people to properly implement the provisions of the Constitution and laws.

The conference listened to comrade Phan Trung Ly introduce 14 basic contents and new features of the 2013 Constitution. The amended Constitution was passed by the National Assembly at the 6th session of the 13th National Assembly, consisting of 11 chapters and 120 articles regulating the political regime; human rights, basic rights and obligations of citizens... with a reasonable layout, presentation techniques ensuring the scope of the basic law, long-term stability, reflecting the will and aspirations of the people; inheriting the great value of the Constitutions of 1946, 1959, 1980 and 1992. The 2013 Constitution promotes human rights, the people's right to supervision, and citizen rights inseparable from citizen obligations.

Conference delegates

Comrade Phan Trung Ly requested that People's Councils at all levels urgently implement the 2013 amended Constitution. The National Assembly has issued a Resolution stipulating a number of points for the implementation of the Constitution, clearly stipulating the deadline for promulgation of the Constitution no later than 15 days from the date of adoption and the effective date of the amended Constitution (January 1, 2014). At the same time, it stipulates the responsibilities of agencies in organizing the implementation of the Constitution, the responsibility for propagating and disseminating the Constitution to ensure that the Constitution is strictly observed and implemented in all areas of social life.
