National online conference of the Transport industry
(Baonghean.vn) -On January 10, in Hanoi, under the chairmanship of comrade Dinh La Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport, the Ministry of Transport held a national online conference to summarize 2012 and deploy tasks for 2013.
Attending and speaking at the conference were comrade Hoang Trung Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister. At Nghe An bridge, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of some provincial departments, branches and sectors and Nghe An Transport sector attended.

In 2012, despite the general difficulties, the transport sector had many solutions to overcome difficulties, and the whole sector achieved many encouraging results. State management of transport had positive changes in both quality and quantity in management, operation and service. Passenger transport in 2012 reached 2,874 million passengers, an increase of 12.2% and 123.4 billion passengers, an increase of 9.5% compared to 2011; freight transport in 2012 reached 941 million tons, an increase of 9.5%. The work of ensuring traffic order and safety has changed dramatically compared to 2011.
In the field of basic construction, right from the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Transport has directed the development and assignment of investment capital plans in line with the orientation; synchronously implemented solutions to accelerate progress, ensuring project quality; identified 2012 as the "Year of construction quality", many projects achieved and exceeded the plan. Regarding the total capital of the whole sector directly managed by the Ministry of Transport, it was 36,919.1 billion VND, disbursed 31,567 billion VND, reaching 182% compared to the plan assigned at the beginning of the year. In 2012, 38 projects managed by the Ministry, 80 traffic projects of localities were started; 76 projects managed by the Ministry, 131 projects of localities were completed. The Ministry directs agencies and units to deploy measures to use existing capital sources, at the same time develop projects to effectively exploit the transport infrastructure system, and develop a mechanism to mobilize resources for maintenance work...
The key task in 2013 determined by the Ministry of Transport is to continue implementing the "Year of discipline, quality, and progress of traffic works", completing the disbursement plan of all assigned capital sources; speeding up the progress of works to put them into operation, promoting efficiency. Continuing to synchronously implement short-term and long-term solutions to control traffic accidents on all three criteria.
At the local bridge, agencies and units of the transport sector in many localities reported on the results of transport work in 2012, deployed tasks in 2013, and at the same time made recommendations to the Ministry of Transport on a number of issues that need to be handled.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai acknowledged and praised the achievements of the transport sector. He emphasized that in the coming time, the sector needs to focus resources to complete the proposed plans; link the sector's development strategy with the climate change response program; analyze and standardize the proposed programs to have specific solutions and implementation roadmaps; pay attention to promoting propaganda work, raising awareness of traffic participants and law enforcement, creating consensus in society.
