Online conference on agricultural material quality management, food safety and hygiene of agricultural and forestry products
(Baonghean.vn) –On the morning of August 2, under the chairmanship of Comrade Cao Duc Phat - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held an online conference to evaluate the management of agricultural material quality and food safety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products. According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, since the beginning of the year, the Ministry has issued 16 legal documents and is currently developing a series of projects on safe agricultural and forestry production. Also in the first 7 months of the year, provinces and cities across the country have organized 2,620 seminars and conferences with nearly 100,000 participants. Localities have also inspected 6,976 agricultural, forestry and fishery production and business establishments, detecting 1,126 violations; inspected 1,437 agricultural material production and business establishments, detecting 240 violations. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has also focused on resolving technical barriers of import markets, handling Vietnamese export shipments that have been warned in the markets; continuing to strengthen quality control and food safety of imported agricultural products.
In Nghe An, in the first 7 months of the year, the agricultural sector has strengthened the dissemination of policies and laws on the quality of agricultural materials and food safety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products. The sector has inspected 15 establishments trading in feed for aquaculture; 24 establishments slaughtering livestock and poultry; over 100 establishments trading in veterinary medicine; establishments producing and processing agricultural, forestry and fishery products. At the same time, inspections of food safety conditions were conducted on 240 fishing vessels in some key localities for exploiting aquatic resources, discovering that 18% of the vessels did not ensure food safety according to regulations.
In the coming time, the agricultural sector will continue to enhance its role in managing food safety and hygiene, strengthen inspection and examination of the implementation of regulations on quality preservation and food safety and hygiene for producers, processors and traders of agricultural, forestry and fishery products, and strengthen the fight against counterfeit and poor quality goods in the area./.
