Provincial Association of the Blind commends advanced models
(Baonghean.vn) - 7 collectives and 57 individuals with outstanding achievements in patriotic emulation movements, well implementing Uncle Ho's teaching "Disabled but not useless" were commended at the Conference of advanced models in the period 2010 - 2015 and launching the emulation movement in the period 2015 - 2020 of the Provincial Blind Association held on the afternoon of April 17.

Over the past 5 years, the Association of the Blind at all levels has widely and effectively implemented patriotic emulation movements. The campaign "Strengthening solidarity, proactively striving, equality, and community integration" by the Central Vietnam Association of the Blind has attracted the participation of a large number of members in the province. Thanks to that, the Association's concentrated facilities have simultaneously boosted production, developed 9 more traditional massage facilities, creating jobs for 453 workers. The total revenue of the Association's concentrated production and traditional massage facilities reached over 28 billion VND; organized 26 vocational training classes, such as toothpick making, weaving, incense making, massage... for hundreds of members.

In addition, the Provincial Blind Association has also approved dozens of large and small projects, deploying 6.3 billion VND in capital for hundreds of members to borrow for economic development. Thanks to that, the number of poor members in the entire Association has decreased every year, up to now this number has decreased by 3% compared to the period 2005 - 2010.
The Provincial Association for the Blind continues to consolidate and develop grassroots branches; currently, 20/21 districts, cities and towns have associations, with over 2,600 members participating in activities; Coordinate with all levels to build and repair houses for poor households, subsidize dozens of tons of rice for members on holidays and Tet; Organize literacy classes, improve Braile proficiency for members... Promoting the achieved results, the Provincial Association for the Blind continues to launch the emulation movement "Three good, two no" for the period 2015-2020.
