Vietnam Journalists Association deploys tasks for 2023
(Baonghean.vn) - For 2 days (April 12-13), in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province, the Vietnam Journalists Association held a conference to review the work in 2022 and deploy tasks for 2023.
Attending the conference, on the Central side were comrades: Tran Hong Ha - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Le Ngoc Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of Vietnam Television, and leaders of a number of ministries, departments and branches.
On the side of Khanh Hoa province, there were comrades: Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of a number of departments, branches and localities.

In 2022, despite many difficulties, the Association at all levels from the central to local levels has strived, united, and been creative, successfully completed its political tasks and achieved many remarkable results. The Association's activities have had many positive changes, going into depth, contributing to enhancing the Association's position in journalism activities.

During the year, the Association changed and issued cards to 20,677 members, admitted 1,816 new members; recognized and supplemented 18 provincial-level association units and association units directly under the Central Association; presented commemorative medals to 536 members and 37 leaders of ministries, departments, branches and localities. Implementing Directive 43-CT/TW dated April 8, 2020 of the Central Party Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation", the Vietnam Journalists Association organized working delegations to work with leaders of provinces and cities to grasp the situation of activities, propose solutions to difficulties and obstacles in terms of staffing, funding, facilities and equipment of grassroots Association organizations.

Professional work is an activity that the Vietnam Journalists Association is interested in. The Association continues to implement the Project to support the creation of high-quality press works, contributing to encouraging and motivating journalists and members to continue to improve the quality of press works. The National Press Awards continue to receive positive and proactive responses from all levels of the Association nationwide.

At the conference, the association at all levels discussed, agreed, drew lessons and proposed practical solutions to effectively implement Directive No. 43-CT/TW of the Secretariat; the Press Law, the National Press Development and Management Plan until 2025; Guidelines for activities of association members who are local resident reporters, 10 regulations on professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, the set of criteria for cultural press agencies and the culture of journalists.

The opinions and discussions also exchanged experiences in professional activities and the Association's work, shared development orientations and strategies, especially on digital transformation in journalism activities; at the same time, frankly assessed and analyzed the existing problems and limitations to find solutions to overcome them in the coming time.
Promoting the achieved results, in 2023, the Vietnam Journalists Association clearly defines the tasks of its organization, continues to thoroughly grasp and implement the Resolutions of the 13th National Congress of the Party on communication and press work; implement the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Resolutions of the Executive Committee and the entire working program for the 2020-2025 term, concretize into practical and effective action programs to continuously improve the role and quality of activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new period.
Electing 5 additional comrades to join the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2020-2025 term: (1) Comrade Tran Thanh Lam - Member of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; (2) Comrade Nguyen Thanh Lam - Member of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; (3) Comrade Do Thi Thu Hang - Head of the Professional Department of the Vietnam Journalists Association; (4) Comrade Vu Thi Ha - Head of the Association's Working Department; (5) Comrade Le Tran Nguyen Huy - Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper. And electing 3 comrades to join the Standing Committee: (1) Comrade Tran Thanh Lam; (2) Comrade Nguyen Thanh Lam; (3) Comrade Do Thi Thu Hang.
