Vietnam Writers Association announces award-winning works of 2012

The Vietnam Writers Association Awards Final Round Council has just announced the results of the Association's award-winning works in 2012.

This is an annual award of the Hanoi Writers Association for works published in the 12 months from the third quarter of the previous year to the second quarter of the following year. The award is given in four categories: literature, poetry, criticism, translation and can be added with an achievement award. Each category only awards one prize, if not selected, it is left blank. The list of finalists is compiled from the recommendations of the subject councils.

This year's award-winning categories include: Prose, Poetry, Critical Theory, and Translation, with no award-winning works.

Prose genre:

Award: Short story collection "The Absent City" by writer Nguyen Thi Thu Hue.

Certificate of Merit: Historical novel “A Lost Century” by writer Pham Ngoc Canh Nam; novel “Game of Emotional Destruction” by writer Y Ban.

Poetry genre:

Awards: Poet Thanh Thao's "Barefoot Epic"; Poetry Collection "Freedom Color of the Earth" by poet Tran Quang Quy; Poetry Collection "25th Hour" by poet Pham Duong.

Certificate of Merit: Poetry collection "Late blooming yellow sandalwood flowers" by poet Khuat Binh Nguyen; poetry collection "Questioning habits" by poet Phan Hoang.

Genre of critical theory:

Award: Work "Multipolarity and Destination" by author Van Chinh.

Translation genre:No award winning work.

The award ceremony is expected to be held on January 29, in Hanoi.
