Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association Do Hong Quan said that in response to the campaign to compose songs about the sea and islands, over 100 songs by more than 80 musicians were sent to the Vietnam Musicians Association, with the most songs coming from 9 people.
The Association has collected and selected nearly 80 works, published in volume 1 "New songs about the homeland's sea and islands" of the special song collection "East Sea Waves."
The Association is continuing to receive works from authors and will also select them to be printed in future publications and will release 1-2 accompanying CDs.
“East Sea Waves” introduces the latest songs about the sea and islands by musicians who are members of the Vietnam Musicians Association as well as non-professional musicians working in many professions and fields, expressing the hearts of musicians about the sea and sky of their homeland, contributing their voices to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
The special feature of episode 1 is the introduction of the first songs written about the Vietnam Coast Guard and Fisheries Surveillance force (''East Sea, the Windy Waves'' by musician Vu Hoang); about the submarine force (''Soldiers Walking in the Heart of the Sea,'' by musician Vu Trong Cuong); the Vietnam People's Navy Air Force (''Fly Up! Navy Air Force'' by musician Tran Ngoc Lam)...
In this meaningful collection, the Vietnam Musicians Association once again speaks out against China's illegal placement of the Haiyang Shiyou-981 drilling rig in Vietnam's waters.
