Vinh City Farmers' Association received Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 17, Vinh City Farmers' Association held a conference to evaluate the implementation of the Resolution of the 9th City Farmers' Association Congress for the 2012-2017 term and received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.

The movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty, launched by the Vinh City Farmers' Association, has received widespread response from members and has become a mass movement in the localities.

To help members develop their economy, the Association opened 63 training classes to transfer science and technology to nearly 3,600 members, 25 vocational training classes for nearly 750 members; built 20-22 economic models each year; coordinated the construction of many specialized production areas such as a 50-hectare model field of high-quality rice in Hung Chinh, safe vegetable growing areas in Nghi Lien, Nghi An, Hung Dong, ornamental flower and tree areas, and family farms in Dong Vinh, Hung Hoa, Hung Chinh... The movement has contributed to increasing the number of well-off and rich households by 463; increasing the number of good production and business households by 358; eliminating 171 poor households.

On behalf of the delegation, Comrade Nguyen Van Lu - Deputy Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Vinh City Farmers' Association.

In the target program of building new rural areas, the Association at all levels has mobilized members to contribute nearly 32 billion VND, 35 thousand working days, donate 11,793 m2 of garden land, 32,982 m2 of rice fields, demolish more than 1,000 m of fences, cut down tens of thousands of trees without compensation to build new rural areas. Propaganda, mobilize members to build infrastructure, build cultural life and have many practical activities to protect the environment. Contributing to the city to build 6/9 communes meeting 19/19 criteria, the remaining 3 communes meeting 13-15 new rural criteria.

At this conference, the City Farmers' Association received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for its achievements in work from 2010 to 2014, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland./.
