Nghe An Farmers' Association connects agricultural product consumption during the epidemic season

It is currently the main crop season for many agricultural products, but due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, agricultural products are difficult to sell and have low value.

Implementing the policy of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Union has launched a program to connect love, support farmers in consuming agricultural products, and together overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.

On the morning of June 10, Nghe An Farmers' Association held an opening ceremony for an agricultural product consumption connection point at the Provincial Cultural Center to introduce and sell agricultural products to promote the consumption of agricultural products of localities in the country and in the province.

Chairman of Nghe An Farmers' Association Nguyen Quang Tung said: With the viewpoint of cherishing Vietnamese agricultural products, Nghe An Farmers' Association advocates supporting the consumption of products for farmers, not "rescuing" agricultural products.

Accordingly, the Provincial Farmers' Association has deployed to the Farmers' Associations of districts, cities and towns in the province to register the quantity. This is both a political task and a responsibility and sentiment of the Farmers' Association towards its farmer members to consume agricultural products during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Products are gathered at the point of sale at the Provincial Cultural Center and Farmers' Associations of districts, cities and towns based on the number of registered members and transported to the locality for delivery to members.

Consumed products are guaranteed to be clean and safe according to VietGAP standards, have clear origin and source, and the harvesting, packaging and transportation processes are strictly controlled, ensuring strict implementation of disease prevention and control measures.

According to the plan, Nghe An Farmers' Association will support the consumption of 40 tons of Soc Trang purple onions, 10 tons of Son La plums and 15 tons of Ky Son plums. At the same time, the Farmers' Association will continue to support the consumption of some safe agricultural products produced by farmers in the province such as VietGAP watermelons, melons, livestock products such as chickens, etc.
