Farmers' Association of Phuc Tho commune with the work of disseminating and popularizing the law

(Baonghean) -In order to help farmers raise their awareness of law compliance, in recent years, the Farmers' Association of Phuc Tho Commune (Nghi Loc) has continuously organized activities to propagate and disseminate the law as well as resolve problems among the people, contributing to stabilizing political security and social order and safety in the area.

Previously, illegal fishing and exploitation of aquatic products was quite common in Phuc Tho commune. Now, thanks to the propaganda work of the Farmers' Association, the situation of fishing with electric shocks and explosive materials has not happened again. All boat owners have signed a commitment. Therefore, the marine and island environment is guaranteed to be safe. Mr. Nguyen Trong Tinh, a boat owner in Ngu Phong hamlet, said: "Previously, because of thinking about immediate profits, many boat owners used prohibited means and equipment to fish. But since the Farmers' Association has propagated, we have understood and strictly complied with the regulations on protecting aquatic resources."

To achieve the above results, the Farmers' Association of Phuc Tho commune has advised on the development of a coordination regulation between the Farmers' Association of the commune and the People's Committee of the commune and related departments and branches to implement the construction of a pilot model on "Mobilizing farmers to comply with the law on protecting aquatic resources" in the field of fishing, aquaculture, and protecting aquatic resources. At the same time, organize households to sign a commitment to exploit and catch aquatic products in accordance with technical procedures, comply with the provisions of the law on fishing and exploiting aquatic resources. Organize propaganda on law compliance for farmer members, 100 people per session, the content of propaganda on the law on fishing, aquaculture, and protecting aquatic resources, guide the activities of the Farmers' Club with the law, in addition to disseminating a number of legal documents directly related to farmers' lives, such as: Law on Complaints and Denunciations, Land Law, Ordinance on Implementing Grassroots Democracy, Ordinance on Mediation, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Cuong - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Phuc Tho commune said: In addition to establishing mediation teams in 18 hamlets, the Association has also strengthened the work of receiving people, participating in resolving complaints and denunciations at the commune chaired by the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee twice a month on the 5th and 25th of each month. In addition, it has diversified propaganda forms through integrated activities and specialized activities, combined with propaganda through dramatization such as the competition for excellent propagandists, Traffic Safety Competition, Farmers' Competition, Excellent Mediators... with dozens of skits elaborately staged, with content close to life such as the issue of land donation for road construction, the dangers of drugs, traffic accidents...

In addition, the Association also opened a column "Farmers with the Law" broadcast once a month on the commune radio system to propagate and disseminate the basic contents of the Penal Code; Civil Code, Law on Complaints, Land Law, Law on Marriage and Family, Law on Road Traffic, Law on Gender Equality, Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, Population Ordinance... Thanks to that, the awareness of law compliance among farmers is increasingly enhanced, limiting complaints and denunciations and petitions to higher levels.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, a resident of Binh Minh hamlet, happily said: The commune is very interested in disseminating the law, so the security and order situation in the hamlet is very good. People live quite comfortably, without having to worry about theft or beatings. What is even more gratifying is that currently there are no drug addicts in the commune.

In addition to the achieved results, in an exchange with us, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Cuong was also concerned because currently the majority of propagandists and mediators are part-time, have not received advanced training or regular training in methods and skills of propagating the law as well as skills in mediating complaints and denunciations among the people; the funding source for the Association's activities is still limited... Therefore, it is necessary to have more attention from authorities at all levels to expand and create conditions for the Association's activities to be more effective, contributing to bringing the law deeper into life.
