On the morning of August 17, in Da Lat city (Lam Dong), Lam Dong Newspaper hosted the opening ceremony of the 11th Conference of Party Newspapers of provinces and cities in the Central - Central Highlands region (round IV) in 2024 with the theme: Press propaganda to promote green transformation.
Attending the workshop on Lam Dong province's side were comrades: Nguyen Thai Hoc - Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Bui Thang - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Pham S - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The workshop was attended by representatives of 19 Party press agencies in the Central Highlands and many press agencies nationwide.
Delegation of Nghe An Newspaper led by Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief attended the Workshop.

Green transformation - inevitable trend
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, journalist Ho Thi Lan - Editor-in-Chief of Lam Dong Newspaper emphasized: Through published documents, green transformation is the process of building an economy that uses natural resources economically and effectively by reducing emissions from low to very low levels and negative impacts on the ecosystem from humans.
This activity aims at a sustainable and economically and socially friendly future, promoting environmental protection measures and sustainable use of resources.

Since the 26th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (from October 31 to November 13, 2021 in the UK), the Government of Vietnam has committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
The Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress affirmed: “...Proactively and effectively adapt to climate change, manage, exploit, use resources rationally, economically, effectively and sustainably; take protecting the living environment and people's health as the top goal; resolutely eliminate projects that cause environmental pollution, ensure the quality of the living environment, protect biodiversity and ecosystems; build a green economy, a circular economy, and be environmentally friendly”.
The Congress also identified green transformation and digital transformation as the two most important transformations for Vietnam to become a developed country with high income, strong and prosperous by 2045.

At the Vietnam Business Forum (February 21, 2022), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam does not trade off the environment, progress and social justice to pursue economic growth alone...
At the end of May 2024, speaking at the Vietnam - Asia Digital Transformation Summit 2024 with the theme: "Digital transformation, green transformation, digital economic development", Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed: "Digital transformation, green transformation, economic development towards sustainable development is an inevitable trend of the world. This is the shortest and cheapest path to a bright future for Vietnam".
That shows that green transformation is one of the important contents that our Party and State always identify in the process of building and developing the country.

An important factor to promote green transformation in Vietnam is the demonstration of responsibility and participation of the entire political system, agencies, units, businesses and the community, including the press.
Under the leadership of the Party, with its functions and tasks, the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general and local Party newspapers in particular have clearly demonstrated their mettle on the information and propaganda front; effectively encouraged and spread the motivation to promote green transformation and actively contributed to changing the awareness, actions and consensus of society on this issue.
With a rich tradition of 40 years of organization and maintenance, the Conference of Party newspapers of provinces and cities in the Central - Central Highlands region has always received deep attention from local Party committees and authorities; enthusiastic support from Party newspaper agencies in the region and colleagues.

Journalist Ho Thi Lan - Editor-in-Chief of Lam Dong Newspaper shared: The workshop is an opportunity for the leadership team and journalists of press agencies to meet, exchange, strengthen their camaraderie and more importantly, an opportunity for Party newspapers in the region to exchange, discuss, learn experiences in propaganda work, coordinate propaganda to continuously improve professional quality, contributing to effectively propagating current and practical issues in local Party newspapers.
The topics and contents presented through the papers at the Workshop will be a very significant contribution in theory and practice, and a valuable document for the propaganda work on the topic of green transformation of the Party press agencies of the provinces and cities in the Central Highlands - Central region.

Role and responsibility of the press
Speaking at the workshop, Acting Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc highly appreciated the fact that in recent years, the Party journalists nationwide in general and the Central Highlands region in particular have constantly strived to affirm their important role as a sharp weapon in the Party's ideological field, as the mouthpiece of the Party Committee, government and people of localities, as an effective means of information and propaganda for all levels of government and as a reliable forum for all classes of people.
He also hoped that delegates would focus on exchanging and contributing practical ideas, contributing to improving propaganda work so that people of all walks of life can access and have a correct understanding of green transformation. From correct and sufficient understanding, there will be positive thinking, leading to drastic and practical actions in life.

At the Workshop, the Organizing Committee received 19 presentations with lively discussions on this topic. The content of the presentations affirmed the correctness of the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, and the State's policies and laws on green transformation.
Therefore, the question is how the local Party newspaper has organized and propagated to convey this content into a vivid and rich reality; at the same time, highlighting the role and responsibility of the press in general, and the local Party newspaper in particular, to contribute to changing thinking, transforming awareness, and taking specific actions in the community to join hands to promote green transformation in a sustainable manner.

At the same time, the discussions focused on clarifying concerns, proposing appropriate working methods, solutions, methods, professional training, etc. to improve the effectiveness and quality of press works on propaganda to promote green transformation; sharing experiences and good practices in the process of implementing propaganda to promote green transformation associated with digital transformation of the press to build Party press agencies in the region in a professional, humane, and modern direction.
The workshop also mentioned recommendations and proposals to local Party committees and authorities to pay attention to mechanisms and policies; invest in financial resources, human resources, and equipment so that Party press agencies in the region can increasingly perform their mission of information and propaganda on all aspects of social life, effectively serving the cause of national construction and development.
