(Baonghean.vn) -This morning (March 17), in Ho Chi Minh City, the 3rd Conference of Party Newspapers of 5 Central Cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho took place. Attending were comrades: Le Thanh Hai - Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Van Dua - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Hanoi, Nghe An Newspaper, Phu Yen Newspaper, central departments and branches, experts from across the country.

With the theme:Party Newspaper and its mission to contribute to building a civilized and modern cityThe workshop had many presentations, introducing experiences and good practices in propaganda work on building urban civilization; limitations in propaganda and focused on analyzing and recommending issues on lifestyle and behavior of civil servants and people; dissecting and proposing mechanisms and policies on urban management, investment, and synchronous development of infrastructure to build large cities worthy of the times, so that our country can basically become a modern industrialized country by 2020.

In particular, with the function of journalism, Party newspapers must do a good job of propaganda, mobilizing the masses, creating social consensus so that people of all walks of life support and share responsibility with the state in investing in developing urban infrastructure. In particular, in the process of building civilized and modern cities, Party newspapers need to propagate and replicate models of good people and good deeds, such as donating land to open roads, practical actions contributing to urban beautification, promoting common interests; honoring organizations and individuals who have made many contributions to building urban infrastructure; promptly reflecting the recommendations of businesses and people so that the authorities can thoroughly handle unreasonable things in the actual implementation of works and projects in the city.
