Australian Government Scholarship Program Seminar
(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, January 9, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Australian Agency for International Development to organize a workshop on the Australian Government Scholarship Program. Attending the workshop were representatives of the Australian Agency for International Development and provincial departments and agencies.
The cooperation between Australia and Vietnam in the field of education, which has been implemented since 2003, has contributed to improving the quality of human resources for Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular. The scholarship program for the development of Vietnam in Australia has an average of 250 scholarships each year for students, officials, civil servants in state agencies, and lecturers in universities and colleges. In Nghe An province alone, the number of students participating in this scholarship program is only a very modest 9 people, of which 6 have completed their studies; 3 are studying in Australia.
At the workshop, the Australian Agency for International Development shared and provided information on funding activities and the Australian Government scholarship program; instructions on how to apply for the development scholarship program; priority fields of study for the Australian development scholarship, such as: agriculture and applied sciences; livestock, community development; development research, economics; disability support, education; environment; forestry; financial management; health....; information on guarantees and conditions for participation in this scholarship program. Delegates were also provided with information on the rights and benefits of participants studying abroad under the Australian Government scholarship program.
The workshop also affirmed that, for a province with great potential in human resources, intelligence and high development needs like Nghe An, there needs to be more participation in this scholarship program to improve the quality of human resources for the province; at the same time, reduce the province's budget in investing in human resource development.
