Workshop on Government Office work of Vietnam and Laos
Today, July 12, in Cua Lo Town (Nghe An), the Government Offices of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic jointly organized a Workshop on advisory work and service to the Government and Prime Minister to implement the Project to support capacity building of the Lao Government Office in the Cooperation Program between the two Governments of Vietnam and Laos signed on June 6, 2011 in Hanoi.

Attending the workshop, on the Lao side, there was Comrade Kham-Phan Phoi-Nha-Vong - Deputy Minister, Deputy Head of the Government Office as Head of the Delegation and 67 comrades representing leaders and experts from 9 departments. On the Vietnamese side, there were Comrade Nguyen Quang Thang - Deputy Head of the Government Office and 34 comrades representing 11 departments of the Government Office. Comrade Nguyen Nhat - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province and Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province with the delegations of the 2 provinces attended the workshop.
On behalf of the delegation of the Government Office of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, comrade Nguyen Quang Thang delivered the opening speech, welcoming the Lao delegation on the occasion of the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2012, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty. He also emphasized that the implementation of the Project to support capacity building of the Lao Government Office this time is an opportunity for the two sides to exchange on professional issues and experiences in advisory work, serving the direction and administration of the Governments and Prime Ministers of the two countries. Thereby enhancing mutual understanding, promoting and developing the comprehensive cooperation relationship between the two Government offices, contributing to deepening the special friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Quang Thang - Deputy Head of the Vietnamese Government Office presented a "Report introducing the basic contents of the Government's working regulations; some solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Government's direction and administration; the Prime Minister approved the improvement of working style and working regime". Comrade Kham-Phan Phoi-Nha-Vong - Deputy Minister, Deputy Head of the Lao Government Office also presented a report on "Introducing the overall organizational structure of the Government and the Working Regulations of the Lao Government".
This is the first workshop jointly organized by the offices of the two Governments. The workshop took place over 2 days (July 12-13, 2012) with 14 reports on issues related to the work of the Government offices of the two countries.
