Workshop on Breakthrough solutions to innovate Vietnam's education

On June 9-10, a national scientific conference with the theme "Breakthrough solutions for fundamental and comprehensive innovation of Vietnam's education" was held in Thai Nguyen city, Thai Nguyen province under the chairmanship of the Vietnam Association of Psychology and Education.

The workshop was organized to gather intellectual contributions from scientists and members nationwide to propose to the Central Government solutions to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate Vietnam's education system towards standardization, modernization, socialization, democratization and international integration.

Accordingly, nearly 100 presentations by delegates revolved around a number of key issues such as: Fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education towards standardization, modernization, socialization, democratization and international integration; conflicts in education development and resolving those conflicts to innovate the way of doing education in Vietnam; building a completely Vietnamese education system according to Ho Chi Minh's thought in the new situation; thoroughly implementing President Ho Chi Minh's "economic - educational" viewpoint into the current innovation cause; regular training for teachers in the form of online training...

Most delegates said that education reform has been a topical issue for a long time, but the results of reform have never met the requirements and until now society is still concerned about this field. The fundamental and comprehensive reform of Vietnam's education system not only aims to overcome the weaknesses and shortcomings of the education system, but also contributes to transforming the education system into a new development model to meet the requirements of "renewing the growth model and restructuring the economy".

At the workshop, delegates also presented a number of solutions on educational thinking, the mission of educational innovation with economic development and personal development; educational goals in response to the requirements of socio-economic development; educational practices in the market mechanism; innovation of the national education system; innovation of educational management mechanisms; innovation of teacher training and development (network, model, content, method, form, policy); fundamental and comprehensive innovation at each level of education, field of study (preschool, general education, vocational education, university, continuing education) and in each locality.
