Workshop to contribute ideas to the draft project on preventing and limiting strikes for the 6th time

Attending the event were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Party Committee's Office, the Provincial People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; members of the Drafting Committee, the team assisting in developing the Project; representatives of the People's Committee, Labor Federations of related districts, cities and towns, and representatives of the human resources department and trade unions of several large enterprises in the province.

With the investment of many large projects and the development of enterprises in Nghe An province in recent times, labor relations in the province have been and are having complicated developments,strikehas been increasing in recent years.

From 2018 to June 2022, although strike prevention work has been implemented, the number of strikes has increased every year and nearly doubled compared to the period 2013-2017. In particular, in the first 6 months of 2022, the number of strikes in Nghe An increased rapidly, equal to the total number of strikes in 2021 and equal to 7.4% compared to the whole country. 19/19 strikes taking place in the period 2018 to June 2022 were not in accordance with legal procedures, the content of the strikes was increasingly complicated, the number of participants was increasing, and the resolution time was increasingly prolonged.

To create a healthy investment environment, facilitate business operations as well as protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee assigned the Provincial Labor Federation to advise on the Project "Some solutions to prevent andLimit strikesnot following legal procedures in Nghe An province in the period 2022 - 2030".

Attending the event, delegates gave many enthusiastic suggestions to complete the content of the project. Among them, from the perspective of State management, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and the People's Committees of the districts had good practices and solutions to prevent and limit strikes.

Concluding the conference, comrade Kha Van Tam respectfully accepted the delegates' comments and suggestions, and will study and adjust them in the most appropriate direction. He also hopes that in the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to receive cooperation and valuable comments from agencies and units, not only instrike fieldbut also in other content.
