Scientific conference "Phan Boi Chau with Nghe An, Nghe An with Phan Boi Chau"

On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of Phan Boi Chau's birth (1867-2007), the Vietnam Literature and Arts Association in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Information organized a conference on Phan Boi Chau with the theme: "Phan Boi Chau with Nghe An, Nghe An with Phan Boi Chau".

Attending the event were leading Professors, Doctors, researchers on Phan Boi Chau from the Institute of Vietnamese Literature, the Institute of Vietnamese History, the National University of Hanoi, the Hanoi University of Education... On the provincial side, there was comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of relevant departments and branches, researchers on Phan Boi Chau in Nghe An.

Phan Boi Chau was born in Nam Dan, on December 26, 1867, and died in 1940. He passed away, leaving behind a glorious career of national salvation, a literary legacy, and a large body of research. He was a harmonious combination of two people, a historical figure and a cultural figure, a convergence of the qualities of a Confucian scholar, politician, and writer. There have been many domestic and foreign books and hundreds of research works about Phan Boi Chau by famous scholars: Dang Thai Mai, Hoai Thanh,

Nguyen Dinh Chu, many central and local scientific conferences discussed Phan Boi Chau... This conference brought dozens of articles, dozens of enthusiastic comments from professors, doctors, and in-depth researchers about Phan Boi Chau with many different aspects and perspectives... Scientists all affirmed that before Ho Chi Minh, Phan Boi Chau was a great cultural celebrity, a great thinker, and an outstanding leader of the national liberation movement in the early 20th century. However, recently, there have been some opinions mentioning incorrect, inaccurate, and unsatisfactory issues about Phan Boi Chau that we need to recognize and consider...

The conference "Phan Boi Chau with Nghe An, Nghe An with Phan Boi Chau" is an opportunity to honor Phan Boi Chau with scientific arguments, with new discoveries about Phan Boi Chau, an outstanding son of the homeland, a great patriot of the nation; at the same time to recall the events and characters of the period of resistance against the French in Nghe An before the 1930s; thereby educating patriotism, self-reliance, pride, and encouraging the spirit of building a strong homeland of the young generation of Nghe An today.
