Thanh - Nghe - Tinh scientific seminar on Dien Bien Phu campaign
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2014), on the morning of May 7, Vinh University organized a scientific conference "Thanh-Nghe-Tinh with the 1953 Winter-Spring campaign and the Dien Bien Phu campaign".
The workshop was attended by many scientists and historical researchers from inside and outside the province, guests who were war veterans who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign and many students from Vinh University.

Within the framework of the workshop, at the Museum of Military Region IV, delegates, war veterans and a large number of lecturers and students of Vinh University offered flowers and incense at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs of Military Region IV and visited the thematic exhibition "Dien Bien Phu".
Afterwards, at Hall A of Vinh University, the conference took place with many presentations by scientists, contributing to clarifying the role of the Thanh-Nghe-Tinh rear in the 1953 Winter-Spring campaign and the Dien Bien Phu campaign. Thereby, affirming the stature of the Dien Bien Phu victory in national history and human history; further clarifying the role of General Vo Nguyen Giap in that legendary feat; honoring the generations of soldiers and people of Thanh-Nghe-Tinh homeland who lived, worked and fought steadfastly in the Fatherland's long-term resistance war against French colonialism.

Through the workshop, delegates and many students of Vinh University met and interacted with 3 guests who were war veterans - witnesses who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. Their tragic war stories have helped today's young generation better understand the spirit and indomitable revolutionary spirit of their predecessors, taking them as lessons and motivation to strive to study and train to become excellent citizens of society.
