Scientific workshop on stem cell technology applications
(Baonghean) -Nghe An Department of Health has just coordinated with Thanh An-Saigon General Hospital to organize a workshop on stem cell technology application and application in medicine.
The workshop was chaired by Associate Professor, Doctor Phan Toan Thang - one of the leading experts in Asia and the world on stem cell technology, currently teaching at the National University of Singapore.
Stem cell research in medicine has been conducted since the 1960s in developed countries, contributing to the treatment of many serious diseases. Currently, this technology has been applied in the treatment of many specialties such as: eyes, cardiovascular, burns, skin...
In Nghe An, Thanh An-Saigon General Hospital is the first hospital to apply this new technology. This will be an opportunity for people in Nghe An province in particular and people in the North Central region in general to access stem cell biotechnology, in order to reduce travel costs for medical treatment.
