The 4th International Conference on Vietnam Studies
The conference was attended by nearly 1,000 scientists from 36 countries and territories around the world.
With the theme “Vietnam on the path of integration and sustainable development”, the 4th International Scientific Conference on Vietnamese Studies officially opened on the morning of November 26 at the National Convention Center, My Dinh, Hanoi.
The conference was attended by nearly 1,000 scientists from 36 countries and territories around the world. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung attended and delivered the opening speech.
The International Conference on Vietnamese Studies is held every four years. This is a large, prestigious scientific forum, gathering leading researchers on Vietnam from all over the world. Here, scientists will share research results, new scientific discoveries and valuable documents on Vietnam spanning many fields, from culture, history, economics, politics, society, law to science-technology, education-training, environment and international relations.

During the 3-day conference, scientists will focus on discussing topics related to Vietnam's history: Tradition and modernity; cultural, economic, ethnic and religious fields in integration and sustainable development; environment and sustainable development in the context of climate change; Vietnam's legal system in the era of rule of law for sustainable development goals...
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences for coordinating with the Hanoi National University and Hanoi City and sponsors to organize the 4th International Scientific Conference on Vietnam Studies with a practical and meaningful theme for Vietnam in the new development stage.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized: Promoting international integration in science and technology in general, and social sciences and humanities in particular, is an important content in Vietnam's international integration strategy.
The International Conference on Vietnamese Studies is a very meaningful activity, contributing to promoting international integration in science and technology. This is an opportunity for scientists in general and the Vietnamese Government in particular to share research results, development experiences, new knowledge about a Vietnam that is constantly developing based on new positions and strengths, contributing to making the world know Vietnam not only as an example of heroic struggle for national independence, national unification, with an advanced culture, imbued with national identity with many cultural works, natural heritages, famous cultural heritages, capable of conquering the peaks of science, but also as a Vietnam that integrates and develops successfully.
The conference is also an opportunity for us to see the growth of the Vietnam studies research network worldwide.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also briefed domestic and international scientists on the outstanding and great achievements of historical significance that Vietnam has achieved after more than 25 years of renovation, and at the same time pointed out the opportunities, policies and main measures for Vietnam to overcome difficulties and challenges in the process of implementing the strategy of promoting industrialization and modernization, improving the effectiveness of international integration, contributing to building an independent, self-reliant, fast-growing and sustainable economy.
The Prime Minister believes that with the participation of many researchers and policymakers, the workshop will make practical contributions to raising awareness and proposing specific solutions and policies to promote integration and sustainable development in Vietnam.
The Prime Minister expressed his hope that international scientists will continue to accompany Vietnamese scientists in building and sustainably developing Vietnamese studies in the world, making an important contribution to the development of Vietnamese studies as well as promoting increasingly effective cooperation between countries for a world of peace, friendship, cooperation and sustainable development./.
