Workshop on application of disease-free chrysanthemum varieties
(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City People's Committee has just coordinated with the North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology to organize a workshop on applying disease-free chrysanthemum varieties in Vinh City. This is a research topic to support farmers to be more proactive in flower production seed sources in the area.
Participating in the workshop, government leaders, agricultural officers and representatives of farmers from suburban communes visited chrysanthemum gardens grown according to the model of applying disease-free varieties researched by the North Central Institute of Agricultural Sciences; and visited the actual breeding research process in the laboratory and nursery. At the workshop, farmers participating in this model noted the ability to adapt to soil and climate conditions of chrysanthemum varieties in Vinh City.
In fact, using this seed source saves 15-20% of the cost compared to having to buy flower seeds in the northern provinces as before. The source of flower seeds is more proactive, the seedlings are not damaged by transportation... Every year, Vinh City consumes about 4-5 million chrysanthemum seedlings, this is a type of plant that farmers grow all year round, the application of disease-free chrysanthemum seeds is very meaningful in supporting farmers in agricultural production in the suburbs, creating a new step in changing the quality and structure of agricultural production seedlings in the locality.
