The 19th Nghe An Province Youth Informatics Contest
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 11, at Vinh University of Technical Education, the Provincial Youth Union and the Department of Education jointly organized the 19th Nghe An Youth Informatics Contest. Attending the opening ceremony was Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Participating in this year's contest are 182 students of all levels from primary, secondary and high schools in urban districts in the province who have been pre-selected from the grassroots level. Of which, 60 are from high schools, 40 are from secondary schools, and 82 are from primary schools. 10 candidates who won high prizes in 2012 also participated in this contest.
Overview of the opening ceremony
Candidates participating in the primary school competition must participate in the following sections: Multiple choice questions on general knowledge; practical application including thinking skills, mouse and keyboard operations. Candidates who are secondary school students must participate in the following sections: Multiple choice questions, programming including writing application programs based on libraries in pascal language. High school students must participate in the section: Creative software made by students themselves, packaged and installed with source code in CD, flashRAM with confirmation from the units.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien warmly congratulated the contestants who had passed the basic level rounds to compete in today's contest and hoped that the contestants would stay calm to achieve the highest results.
He requested that all levels and sectors should make more efforts to create an environment and more opportunities for young people to compete and develop their talents; the Organizing Committee needs to have a tight plan so that students who have won high prizes at the provincial level can practice well to compete at the central level and achieve high results; there should be solutions to develop a project to improve the quality of the competition. Innovative software with high scientific and practical value needs to be seriously and carefully considered and appropriate measures should be taken to register copyright and apply in practice.
The contest takes place over 2 days. The Organizing Committee will award 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes and 18 consolation prizes, 01 prize for the group with outstanding achievements and 01 prize for the youngest contestant participating in the contest.
