The 2nd Red Cross First Aid and Propaganda Competition of Nghe An Province

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of May 6, in Vinh city, the Provincial Red Cross organized the 2nd Provincial Red Cross Propaganda and First Aid Competition. The competition attracted more than 200 propagandists and volunteers from 16 districts, cities and towns to participate.

This is an activity to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent (May 8, 1865 - May 8, 2013). Before the opening ceremony, the Red Cross of the province and districts, cities, towns and propagandists came to lay a wreath in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at the Uncle Ho Monument - Ho Chi Minh Square.

Entering the contest, after the opening ceremony, 16 teams from 16 districts, cities and towns showed off their talents in the "Greeting" contest. In general, through the "Greeting" performance, the teams demonstrated the theme, purpose and meaning of the contest; affirming the great impacts of humanitarian and charitable work in the Red Cross system. After the "Greeting" contest, the teams took turns performing the next 3 contests: skit, eloquence and first aid skills contest. The content presented by the propaganda teams was quite rich, including disaster response, health care, voluntary blood donation, mobilizing support for the construction of humanitarian works, first aid methods.....

The competition took place on May 6 and 7. The competition was organized not only to create a competitive movement and practice Red Cross skills but also to provide an opportunity for teams to exchange experiences and share information in first aid work, contributing to building a core team of Red Cross at the grassroots level to operate more and more effectively.
