Nghe An Medical Association held congress for term 2015-2020

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 29, Nghe An Medical Association held the Congress of Delegates for the 2015-2020 term.

Attending the congress were Prof. Dr. Pham Manh Hung - President of Vietnam Medical Association; Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and nearly 200 delegates representing more than 75 thousand members in the whole province.

Overview of the Congress

Nghe An Medical Association is a voluntary professional social organization of people working in professional, research, and teaching medicine, both public and private, carrying out the task of caring for and protecting people's health in Nghe An province. In the past term, with its role and functions, the Association has participated in coordinating with the health sector to develop many important programs and projects such as: the overall planning for the development of the health system in Nghe An province, building the Project for the development of the High-Tech Medical Center in the North Central region, developing the grassroots health network...

With the contribution of the Association, the quality of medical examination and treatment of Nghe An Health sector has been gradually improved, the quality of medical services has been increasingly improved, technical expertise has basically solved provincial techniques and some central techniques; successfully applied many new and modern treatment methods and techniques in examination and treatment, such as: kidney transplant, bone marrow transplant to treat breast cancer, open heart surgery, neuro-cranial surgery, cardiovascular intervention, endoscopic surgery... The preventive health system from the province to the district continues to be strengthened and consolidated, contributing to the effective detection and control of epidemics... Every year, there are nearly 700 topics at the grassroots and provincial levels.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong praised and acknowledged the achievements of the Association in the past term. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: In recent times, the quality of medical examination and treatment has been increasingly improved, reducing the number of referrals, contributing to reducing the load on the central level, achieving many results in scientific research work... in that development, there is a significant contribution of the Nghe An Medical Association.

In the coming time, to effectively carry out the task of protecting and taking care of people's health in the new situation, Nghe An Medical Association needs to carry out the following issues: strengthen solidarity in the Standing Committee, Executive Committee and Medical Association to strive to successfully implement the proposed Resolution; promote the spirit of creativity, study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, actively participate in scientific research; closely coordinate with the health sector in participating in developing action programs, assigned projects and organizing the implementation of the sector's activities; contribute opinions to legal documents and regulations related to the Association's activities according to the provisions of law...

Awarding certificates of merit from the Association to 15 units with outstanding achievements

In the coming term, Nghe An Medical Association will continue to consolidate and develop the association organization with branches and specialized associations, build and promulgate operating regulations on the basis of contributing to the task of protecting and caring for people's health; participate in building projects and plans for industry and professional development.

The Congress of Nghe An Medical Association elected the Executive Committee for the 2015-2020 term, consisting of 31 members. Meritorious Doctor - BSCK2 Bui Dinh Long - Director of the Department of Health was elected as the Association's President.

On this occasion, Nghe An Medical Association also awarded certificates of merit to 15 groups with outstanding achievements in association activities during the past term./.
