At a press conference on the afternoon of January 2, which was also the sixth day of searching for the QZ8501 plane that crashed in the Java Sea, carrying 162 people, Mr. Bambang Soelistyo - Director of the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency said: "On January 3, rescue forces will return to the fuselage - which has been located at the bottom of the sea."
"It is certain that most of the fuselage of QZ8501 is at a depth of 25-30 meters, rescue forces will try to salvage and search for the black box" and "several ships will continue searching tonight", Mr. Soelistyo added.
Earlier, Colonel Yayan Sofiyan of the Indonesian Navy told the press that the ship Bung Tomo had found the tail of flight QZ8501.
However, rescuers will continue their work in bad weather until January 4, and waves of 2-4m high. Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency said it would continue to extend the search time under the order of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
