This morning (April 2), the National Assembly Standing Committee reported to the National Assembly the results of discussions at the National Assembly delegation and explained and accepted the opinions of National Assembly deputies on the expected personnel to elect the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

According to the National Assembly Standing Committee's previous report on personnel plans, only Mr. Tran Dai Quang - Minister of Public Security was nominated for the position of President to replace Mr. Truong Tan Sang, who was dismissed by the National Assembly.

Mr. Tran Dai Quang was born on October 12, 1956, in Ninh Binh province. He is a member of the 13th National Assembly. He is a Professor and Doctor of Law and has held the following positions: Director of the Security Staff Department, Deputy Director General, Director General of the General Security Department, Standing Member of the People's Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Member of the Central Committee of the 10th, 11th, and 12th terms, member of the Politburo of the 11th and 12th terms, member of the Government Party Committee, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, General, Minister of Public Security, member of the National Defense and Security Council.

The National Assembly will discuss and vote on the list to elect the President before voting by secret ballot and voting on the Resolution to elect the President.

After being elected by the National Assembly, the President will swear allegiance to the Fatherland, the People and the Constitution.

Also today, the National Assembly will dismiss the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, a number of members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Chairman of the Ethnic Council, the Chairmen of a number of National Assembly Committees, and the State Auditor General./.
