Former President Truong Tan Sang offers incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Kim Lien Relic Site

On the afternoon of January 17, in the atmosphere of welcoming the Lunar New Year 2025 and commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), comrade Truong Tan Sang - former Politburo member, former President visited the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site to respectfully offer flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh.

Also attending were leaders of Nghe An province, including comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of the Standing Committee of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial People's Committee Office, the Department of Culture and Sports, and the Standing Committee of the Nam Dan District Party Committee.

At the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site (Nam Dan district), in a sacred atmosphere, former President Truong Tan Sang and the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express their infinite gratitude and deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh.

President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of our Party and People, National Liberation Hero - World Cultural Celebrity, He founded and trained the Communist Party of Vietnam.

President Ho Chi Minh has passed away, but his image will always live forever in the mountains and rivers of Vietnam. His thoughts will always light the way and show the way for the Vietnamese revolution to go from one victory to another.

Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, former President Truong Tan Sang and the delegation vowed to forever study and follow his noble ideology, morality and style.

King Mai's real name was Mai Thuc Loan, a national hero who initiated and led our people to rise up against the Tang Dynasty in the 8th century. King Mai was born in the year of Canh Ngo (670), in Ngoc Trung village, Dong Liet commune, now Nghia Thai commune, Nam Dan district.

In 713, Mai Thuc Loan raised the flag of uprising in Hoan Chau. To call on the people, Mai Thuc Loan ascended the throne (the people often called him Mai Hac De), he chose Sa Nam as the capital.

From Hoan Chau, the uprising quickly spread to many places, and at the same time had connections with countries in the region such as Lam Ap, Chan Lap... The insurgents captured Tong Binh citadel, liberated a large area and maintained independence for 10 years.

In the year of Nham Tuat 722, the Tang Dynasty sent Duong Tu Huc to lead troops to invade our country. His stepmother Pham Thi Uyen, the First Prince and many generals sacrificed one after another, Tong Binh citadel fell, he retreated to Hung Son base to continue commanding the uprising.

Before falling seriously ill and passing away, he passed the throne to his youngest son, Mai Thuc Huy, to continue leading the uprising army. However, not long after that, Mai Thuc Huy also heroically sacrificed himself.

Expressing gratitude and remembering the great contributions of Mai Thanh Dai De, Mai Thanh Thieu De and the generals and soldiers in the cause of national liberation, the delegation vowed to strive, study, cultivate and train to join the entire Party, people and army to build the country firmly into a new era - the era of national growth, building the homeland to become increasingly rich and civilized.
