Today, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping visits Vietnam

Taking place less than a year after General Secretary To Lam's visit to China, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's visit is an important foreign political event of the two Parties and two countries, with strategic significance and long-term impact on the development of Vietnam-China relations in the context of both countries entering a new era, a new era of development.

This is Mr. Xi Jinping's fourth visit to Vietnam as the highest leader of the Party and State of China and the second visit during the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

This is also the first foreign visit of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping in 2025.

Notably, the visit took place during the Year of Humanitarian Exchange, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations.

It is expected that General Secretary and President Xi Jinping will have high-level talks with General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong; and will have meetings with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Vietnamese and Chinese leaders will discuss major measures, directions and orientations to promote bilateral relations in all fields.

It is expected that ministries, branches, agencies and localities of the two sides will sign about 40 cooperation documents in a series of fields, creating an important foundation for more effective cooperation in the coming time.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said that the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State are looking forward to and hope that the visit will achieve good results.

Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh said that the visit was highly valued by both sides, and was carefully arranged and prepared in terms of both program and content.

This is an opportunity for senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries to continue to deepen strategic exchanges, assess the relationship between the two Parties and two countries, especially the results achieved in implementing high-level common agreements, and identify major directions and measures to promote the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China to develop more stably, substantially and effectively in the coming time.

Inheriting the tradition of friendship and practices between the two sides, the Party, State and people of Vietnam attach great importance to the visit and will give General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping a special welcome, full of friendship and brotherhood.
