Today, U23 Vietnam gathers: Creating a framework for SEA Games 27
Today, May 28, 26 U23 players will officially gather at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (My Dinh, Hanoi) to prepare for friendly matches in early June.

This is the first training session in 2013 of the Vietnam U23 team and coach Hoang Van Phuc is also hoping to create a new framework for the team for the 27th SEA Games taking place in Myanmar in December 2013. There are no longer the previous mainstay players such as Thanh Luong, Trong Hoang, Van Hoan, Long Giang (due to being too old to participate in the SEA Games)... Coach Hoang Van Phuc has refreshed the Vietnam U23 team with a series of promising young players such as: Phi Son, Manh Hung, Minh Tuan, Nguyen Manh, Thanh Hien... That also means that the team will start from the smallest things, such as the players getting to know each other on the training ground as well as in real life and most importantly, finding a bond in each phase of the ball.
One good thing is that despite their young age, thanks to playing in many clubs, the players are gradually maturing and asserting their abilities. Coach Hoang Van Phuc said: "In the list of the U23 Vietnam team, there are many players who are regularly starting and have become irreplaceable pillars at the club level such as Manh Hung, Nguyen Manh (SLNA), Van Quyet (HN.T&T), Thanh Hien, Buu Ngoc, Thanh Hao (CS.DT), Van Thang (Thanh Hoa)... These players are in high form, which will contribute to creating new vitality for the team."
According to the plan, after 6 days of training, the Vietnam U23 team will have a friendly match against Kashima Antlers Club (Japan) on June 4 at My Dinh National Stadium. Next, our boys will meet HN.T&T Club (June 8), before moving to Ho Chi Minh City to host the Myanmar U23 team on June 11. Those 3 friendly matches will help coach Hoang Van Phuc test the playing style, as well as find the most suitable players in each position for the long journey ahead.
