More than 120,000 customers in the North have no electricity due to floods.
The Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) said that as of 9:30 a.m. on August 3, heavy rain, flooding, and landslides in 27 northern provinces managed by the Corporation had affected the power supply to more than 120,000 customers.

In Quang Ninh, there are currently 39 transformer stations supplying electricity to 5,210 customers without power, concentrated in Minh Chau, Thang Loi, Ban Sen communes (Van Don district), part of Cam Pha city, Luong Mong, Dap Thanh communes (Ba Che district), Ky Thuong commune (Hoanh Bo district).
Quang Ninh Electricity Company is focusing on fixing power problems in areas where water has receded. However, many areas such as Hoanh Bo and Ba Che are experiencing heavy flooding and cannot be fixed yet.
In Son La, due to an incident at the 110 kV Phu Yen transformer station, two transformer stations distributing electricity to Nam Gion commune (Muong La district) and Chen village in Bac Yen district had an incident causing power outages for 382 customers.
Son La Power Company has been on standby, ready with solutions to fix problems to soon restore power to customers.
According to Lang Son Electricity Company, low-voltage grid failure due to heavy rain is also causing power outages for about 520 customers in part of Kai Kinh commune (Huu Lung district), Luc Thon and Quan Ban communes (Loc Binh district), Hoa Binh commune and Thuong Cuong commune (Chi Lang district).
Dien Bien Electricity Company also said that flash floods, inundation and landslides in the area caused a power outage at Chieng Sinh 4 transformer station supplying electricity to about 250 customers.
In the early morning of August 3, a landslide of 4 medium voltage poles exposed line 375 E21.2 (Dien Bien 110kV transformer station) caused a power outage for 4,000 customers.
However, the Company is fixing the problem by restoring power to customers using the 35kV loop from Nam Nhun Power Company - Lai Chau Power Company.
Bac Giang Electricity Company informed that the flood also affected 4 medium voltage lines in the area, making it impossible to reconnect power, and 40 power transformer stations, causing nearly 6,000 customers in 26 communes of Son Dong, Yen The, Yen Dung districts and Bac Giang city to lose power.
Currently, the water level of Luc Nam River is rising and some low-lying areas and basins continue to be flooded.
Bac Giang Electricity Company is closely monitoring the water levels of rivers and the flooding situation in the area to have timely response and troubleshooting plans./.
