More than 1.6 million tons of goods passed through Cua Lo Port
(Baonghean.vn) - With the completion of the investment project to dredge and clear the channel of Cua Lo Port (-7.2 meters) with a total investment of 376 billion VND to welcome large tonnage ships and to invest in upgrading and expanding warehouse area, machinery and equipment, and motor vehicles to meet cargo loading and unloading requirements, in the first 7 months of 2015, the volume of goods passing through Cua Lo Port was more than 1.6 million tons.

The items with large output through Cua Lo port are Containers of more than 522,500 tons, wood chips of nearly 232,000 tons, fertilizers of nearly 115,000 tons, beef of 19,200 tons...
Notably, on July 5, for the first time, Cua Lo Port welcomed the Thanh Thanh Dat 99 ship with a tonnage of more than 22,300 tons after safely docking. Thanks to good maritime security and safety, after more than 1 month, the Thanh Thanh Dat 99 ship docked 3 times to load and unload wood chips for export to China.

Welcoming large tonnage ships into the port will create conditions for Cua Lo Port to successfully implement Decision No. 70 of the Prime Minister on building Cua Lo Port into a national hub port of type I, serving the socio-economic development of the region and inter-regions.
