(Baonghean.vn) - In the first days of the new year of Giap Thin 2024, hundreds of workers came to the Employment Service Center to find suitable jobs. This is also the time when businesses enter the recruitment season with more than 10,000 job positions.

Many workers "jump" jobs

The 6th day of the first lunar month, i.e. February 15, 2024, is the first working day of the Nghe An Employment Service Center. On this day, nearly 950 people came to the Center and 03 Unemployment Insurance application receiving points in Thai Hoa, Dien Chau, Anh Son to inform about monthly job search for those who are receiving unemployment benefits. Despite being overloaded, the staff at the Employment Center tried their best to receive all the applications of the workers.

According to the Center's representative, the reason for the increase in unemployment benefit applications is that before Tet, many workers from Nghe An returned from other provinces and cities. Meanwhile, due to Tet holiday, the Center did not receive applications for about a week, leading to the number of applications being piled up for many days. The number of workers coming to apply for unemployment benefits was mainly due to bankrupt companies, some companies downsizing their workforce. In addition, some workers wanted to change jobs because their salaries were not guaranteed.

Returning from Long An, Mr. Nguyen Van Hong - Nghi Kieu Commune, Nghi Loc said that in the past, workers in the southern provinces could easily find jobs with an income of more than 10 million VND/month. However, in the past year, due to a decrease in orders and unstable work, a worker in the leather shoe industry like him only earns about 5 million VND/month.

Due to his low income, he decided to return home during the Tet holiday and hoped to find a job in his hometown to stabilize his life. After more than 30 minutes of research, he said he had found some suitable jobs in Vinh city in the hotel industry and hoped to soon connect with businesses for interviews.

Tran Thi Mui and her husband also come from Khanh Hop commune, Nghi Loc district. Both have worked for 20 years as workers in Dong Nai province in various fields such as working in the photocopier production line, assembling machines with an income of nearly 15 million VND/month. Although they have 3 children, the eldest son is studying at a specialized school in Dong Nai province, this year, the couple decided to return to their hometown because "here they have a home, a family, and do not have to compete too much in a foreign land".

Sharing more about her wishes, Ms. Tran Thi Mui said: I determined that when I return to my hometown, my salary and income will decrease and I hope to find a job with about 6 million VND/month plus overtime. Currently, there is a lot of work but I am having to consider because for a worker over 40 years old like me, if the job is too stressful, it will not be suitable.

Thousands of jobs at the beginning of the new year

The rapid increase in the number of workers coming to the Employment Service Center at the beginning of the new year seems to have been predicted. Not only looking for jobs in the province, many people also come to look for opportunities to work abroad, including many university graduates.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Kha, who lives in Hung Phu Commune, Hung Nguyen District, came to the Center to ask for advice for his family about going to work in Korea. Previously, Mr. Kha graduated from the Bridge and Road Engineering Department at the University of Construction and worked for 3 years in Hanoi. However, because the job was unstable and the salary was low, his family decided to look for job opportunities abroad...

Talking about the overseas labor market, Mr. Tran Huu Thuong - Deputy Director of the Employment Service Center said: Currently, there are many markets for workers to choose from such as Korea, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Algeria with many different industries such as food processing, mechanics, construction, industrial sewing.

Among the industries, the Korean labor market is chosen by many workers, especially after Korea reopened to 3 localities in Nghe An: Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen and Cua Lo town. Before Tet, Nghe An received more than 6,000 applications for the Korean language test and the number of workers registering from these localities was quite large.

Domestically, up to this point, the Employment Service Center has received more than 10,000 jobs from businesses in many different industries such as leather shoe manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, phone case mold manufacturing, watches...

In particular, WHA Industrial Park alone needs more than 2,000 general workers and office staff, Luxshare - ICT Nghe An Limited Liability Company needs 1,000 electronics production workers, and Minh Anh Tan Ky Garment Joint Stock Company needs to recruit 500 garment workers.

In addition, the demand for jobs outside the province is also very high, such as Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Corporation needs 300 workers including production technicians and maintenance staff, LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Corporation needs 700 technical workers to work in the field of TV assembly with a salary of 10 - 13 million VND/month.

According to the plan, to increase support for businesses to find candidates and workers to find jobs promptly, Nghe An Employment Service Center will organize an Online Job Exchange every Monday morning.

In addition, job information will also be sent to localities to promptly inform workers throughout the province.
