More than 100 Nghe An students participate in the national excellent student selection contest in 2023
(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (February 24), the national high school student selection exam for the 2022-2023 school year was officially held with the participation of more than 4,500 candidates from 63 provinces and cities across the country.
The Nghe An student delegation participating in this exam includes 102 students from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. Vinh University High School for the Gifted also has 43 candidates participating in this year's exam.
Students will take 11 exams, including Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French and Information Technology.
Previously, the Regulations for the 2023 Excellent Student Competition had many changes in the criteria for selecting candidates as well as the number of candidates. Accordingly, each subject of each participating unit has a maximum of 6 candidates (except for the Hanoi City participating unit); teams with the maximum number of candidates and 80% or more of the candidates winning prizes in two (2) consecutive national excellent student competitions are considered by the Ministry of Education and Training to increase the maximum to 10 candidates.

As planned, the competitionexcellent studentThis year, Nghe An students will take the exam at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. Candidates will take the exam over two days (February 24 and 25) starting at 8am.
The national excellent student selection exam is an important exam to motivate and encourage teachers and students to promote their creativity, good teaching and good learning abilities; at the same time, it discovers talented students to create a source of training.

The results of the exam will be the basis for selecting the best students to be included in the Vietnamese Olympic teams to compete in regional and international competitions, the Asia-Pacific Physics and Informatics competitions, and international Olympic competitions.
Prize-winning students will also be awarded certificates and given priority for direct admission to universities and colleges. Candidates who advance to the next round - selected for the international Olympic team - will be exempted from the high school graduation exam. This is also the exam in which Nghe An students have been among the top in the country for many consecutive years./.
