(Baonghean.vn) - This is the common situation in all non-public schools in Nghe An province due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Up to now, Nghe An province has 82 non-public schools from kindergarten to high school with 2,488 staff, teachers and workers.

According to the synthesis of the Nghe An Education Trade Union, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, schools have temporarily stopped teaching for nearly 3 months, but no non-public schools have had to close, temporarily close, or dissolve. However, there are still 22 workers whose labor contracts have been terminated.

Notably, the whole province currently has 2,261 officials, teachers, and workers working at non-public schools who have not been paid from January 2020 to April 2020.

In which, the most is Vinh city with 1,183/1,327 teachers, Cua Lo town 43/56 teachers, Dien Chau 84/84 teachers, Yen Thanh 17/17 teachers, Quynh Luu 21/21 teachers, Hoang Mai town 92/92 teachers, Nghia Dan 13/13 teachers, Thai Hoa town 39/39 teachers, Quy Hop 20/20 teachers, Con Cuong 14/14 teachers, Tan Ky 34/36 teachers, Do Luong 43/43 teachers and Nam Dan 59/59 teachers.

In addition, in the school blocks under the Department, 599/677 teachers have not been paid.

Through research at non-public schools, the reason why teachers have not received salaries for many months is because schools have been closed due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic. Meanwhile, the main source of income for non-public schools depends on student tuition, so for many months now, schools have had no source of income to pay salaries and some other policies.

It is known that Nghe An Education Trade Union has reported and proposed to the Government to include the list of cadres, teachers, and workers of non-public educational institutions (high schools, multi-level schools, private kindergartens, private and independent childcare groups) and caregivers (in public kindergartens and primary schools that organize boarding meals, except for kindergartens in extremely difficult areas that have received State budget support) in the list of beneficiaries of the Government's support package for workers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

At the same time, propose to the Social Insurance to postpone insurance payments and not charge late payment interest during the epidemic months, initially February, March, April, May, June 2020 and consult with the Government to exempt unemployment insurance payments during the time off due to the epidemic. At the same time, resolve the unemployment insurance regime during the time of no work and no income.

The industry also requested the Vietnam Education Trade Union and the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation to have timely support solutions for officials, teachers, and non-public workers to help teachers and schools overcome this difficult period.
