(Baonghean.vn) - According to a source, the Chinese Government has sent invitations to more than 50 countries to attend the Victory Parade commemorating World War II, scheduled to be held in the capital Beijing on September 3.
As of mid-July, more than 20 countries have accepted China's invitation. The militaries of these countries will participate in a parade to commemorate the end of the most devastating war in human history.
Among the leaders who will be present at the event are notably Russian President Vladimir Putin, Cuban President Raul Castro, and Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.

China also sent an invitation to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, but Mr. Abe has not yet decided whether to accept China's invitation or not.
Many other Western countries are also hesitant about this invitation from China, including the United States. Many Western leaders are concerned that their participation could provoke China to confront Japan - two countries that have many disagreements on historical issues. Specifically, for Japan, this Chinese event is to celebrate the "70th anniversary of the victory in the war against Japanese aggression".
Several Southeast Asian countries said they would respond to China's invitation after reviewing Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's stance.
