The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, together with the Tien Giang Provincial Police, continued to direct the Drug Rehabilitation Center to coordinate with relevant units to stabilize the situation and encourage and explain to the trainees so that they can confidently cooperate in drug rehabilitation. At the same time, they focused on repairing and reinforcing the fences, locks, and cell doors that had been broken by the trainees.

Currently, the authorities have notified the locality and the families of the students to bring them back to the Center. At the same time, they have called on the people in the area to protect their property and report to the authorities if they discover students hiding. In particular, the center's catering staff who was assaulted and injured by the students is still being treated at Tien Giang General Hospital.

As Tien Phong reported, on the morning of August 11, a group of drug addicts at the Tien Giang Labor and Social Education Treatment Center (in Tam Hiep Commune, Chau Thanh District) - under the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Tien Giang Province got into an argument with the staff. The subjects then used knives and bricks to attack, causing a center employee to break his tooth, then shouted and incited the remaining people to break the door and escape.

Hundreds of students poured onto Highway 1, carrying sticks and walking around, taking off their shirts and throwing them along the road, and shouting, scaring many people and causing traffic jams. Many groups then split into smaller groups and took people's bicycles to escape.

At noon of the same day, more than 100 officers and soldiers of Tien Giang Provincial Police and Chau Thanh District Police had to temporarily block National Highway 1 through the district, controlling and arresting dozens of students who escaped from the Compulsory Drug Rehabilitation Center.

By early afternoon, more than 200 students had fled to neighboring communes. Many of them resisted the task force, obstructing traffic. Some of them even took clothes and bicycles from people's houses to disguise themselves and avoid the task force.

It is known that the cause of the above incident was due to a conflict over the working hours of the catering team, a group of students had a scuffle and fought back against the staff of the facility. Most of the students who escaped had been detoxed.
