Over 209 billion VND to buy health insurance cards for children under 6 years old

The Ministry of Finance has just decided to temporarily grant 13 provinces and cities nationwide to buy health insurance cards for children under 6 years old in 2014.

The Ministry of Finance said that, based on Decree 62/2009/ND-CP of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance, the Ministry of Finance temporarily allocated a targeted supplement from the central budget of VND 209,124 billion to 13 localities nationwide to implement the policy of purchasing health insurance cards for children under 6 years old.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Finance temporarily provided additional funding to support localities, specifically Ha Giang province with 15.63 billion VND, Lang Son province with 10.335 billion VND, Lao Cai province with 11.216 billion VND, Hai Phong city with 15.794 billion VND, Nam Dinh province with 31.138 billion VND;

Ninh Binh province is 17,931 billion VND, Quang Binh province is 13,416 billion VND, Thua Thien-Hue province is 17,517 billion VND, Da Nang city is 5,746 billion VND, Dak Nong province is 4,645 billion VND, Dong Nai province is 14,516 billion VND, Tien Giang province is 19,231 billion VND and An Giang province is 32 billion VND.

For Ninh Binh and Dak Nong provinces, in addition to the 2014 budget, the Ministry of Finance provided an additional 9,499 billion VND so that the two provinces could have resources to implement the policy of purchasing health insurance cards for children under 6 years old in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Of which, the additional amount for Ninh Binh province is 1,739 billion VND (budget for 2012), Dak Nong province is 7.76 billion VND (budget for 2011, 2012, 2013).
