(Baonghean.vn) -According to forecasts, Nghe An is not the center of storm No. 6, but storm prevention and control measures are being actively implemented. More than 4,000 fishing boats with nearly 19,000 workers have come ashore for safe shelter, and coastal residents are tying up their houses, ready to deal with any unusual situations that may arise.

At noon on August 7, it was pouring rain, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh and his son tried to cover the boat with a tarpaulin while using all their strength to tie a rope to the anchor at Cua Hoi fishing port. Yesterday, his fishing boat with 8 crew members was fishing in the Gulf of Tonkin, receiving storm news from the coastal telecommunications station, Mr. Binh and his fellow boats immediately returned to shore at top speed. By 2:00 p.m., the work of tying the oars to protect the boat from the storm was basically completed, the boat owner and his son sat leisurely chatting and hoping the storm would not make landfall.

At Cua Hoi Fishing Port, it was pouring rain. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha put on a raincoat and ran to the fishing port because she heard that her family's small fishing boat had broken down near Hon Ngu Island while packing up fishing gear to return to the mainland. When the boat had just broken down, her husband, Mr. Mao, contacted his brothers nearby and brought two boats out to tow them back to port safely. "Thank God the storm hasn't hit yet, otherwise, my husband's fishing boat and my children wouldn't have been able to return," Ms. Ha sighed in relief.

The family's boat broke down while on the way to collect nets to avoid the storm, Mr. Mao's family had to mobilize more people and send a ship to tow it back to port.

At the storm shelters of Cua Hoi fishing port, border port and along the coastal road, on the afternoon of August 7, hundreds of ships and boats have found safe anchorages. Many large-capacity fishing boats from Quang Ngai, Quang Tri and Binh Dinh provinces have been safely anchored since yesterday, when they heard about the storm. Many ship owners took advantage of the storm to send workers to the Cua Hoi port repair shop to weld cables, replace ropes for wrapping nets, and wait for the storm to pass and the clouds to clear before continuing to set sail.

In response to the developments of storm No. 6, Nghe An province has established two working groups (one from the Provincial People's Committee and one from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) to inspect coastal districts and key areas, and members of the Provincial Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control have gone to assigned areas to direct.
