99 large sacks containing clothes of Chinese origin without owners or documents proving their origin were seized by police on the morning of December 8 at Dong Xuan market (Hanoi).



Nearly 6 tons of smuggled clothes were seized

The Hoan Kiem District Economic Police Team coordinated with Market Management Team No. 2 and Dong Xuan Ward Police to conduct an inspection at the goods gathering gate No. 13 of Dong Xuan market, Cau Dong street.

At the time of inspection, the authorities discovered 99 large sacks containing clothes of Chinese origin without owners or documents proving their origin. Immediately, the police agency made a record, gathered all the above goods to transport to the warehouse of Market Management Team No. 2 for counting.

According to an investigator, most of these sacks contained winter clothes and various fabrics. The products were brought from China to the domestic market for consumption. Notably, although the owner of the goods has not been identified, the pineapple sacks all have the recipient's name and address written on them quite specifically.


The authorities have transferred all 99 sacks to the warehouse for processing. The total weight of the contraband is more than 6 tons.


The case is currently under further investigation.
