More than 600 colorful bird cages attended the Festival. |
After the opening ceremony, the "showing off your figure and voice" contest of the birds participating in the Festival began with three rounds of scoring. In each round, the judges will carefully evaluate by listening to the birds' singing and lowering the cages of the eliminated birds.
In the first round, to increase the level of competition, each judge can knock down an unlimited number of cages in 15 minutes, but at least five cages must be eliminated. In the second round, the bird cages on the outside will be brought inside, replacing the eliminated cages. In the ten minutes, each judge will eliminate at least five more bird cages that are not "qualified". The third round will follow the same rules as the second round.
After three qualifying rounds, the organizers expect there to be only about 200 birds left, divided into four groups, to select the Top 40, Top 30, Top 20 and Top 10 rankings. Of these Top 10, the four birds with the strongest singing voices will be carefully selected by the judges for the First, Second, Third and Fourth prizes. The six birds with the weakest "singing voices" will receive the consolation prize and the Top 10 prize.
Unlike previous times, this year, the organizing committee paid special attention to the issue of fairness in the evaluation of the birds' singing voices participating in the Festival. After each round, the judges were only allowed to read the results and remain seated, the cage lowering team would be responsible for lowering the cages. In addition, the organizing committee also arranged for supervisory teams to closely monitor and supervise.

According to a member of the Organizing Committee, this is to completely avoid cheating and taking advantage of the "shyness of strangers" of the two types of birds: starlings and white-eyes.
The festival is a community cultural activity, imbued with social character, contributing to preserving and enriching the traditional cultural beauty of bird keeping in Hue in particular and Vietnam in general.
